of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland is comprised
of a growing and energetic group of remodelers, subcontractors and
suppliers who take an active part in their community and association.

Meetings
The RC Council
meets the third Wednesday of each month at noon. Each month
the RC lunch meeting is sponsored by one of the members who
may choose to either host the lunch at their facility or at the
HBA. Meetings consist of:
- a catered
lunch
- a tour of
the sponsors facility
- a short presentation
by the sponsor
- general announcements
- 20-30 minute
educational presentation

Builders
Surplus Sale
Each
year the Remodelors™ Council collects items for sale in the
Builders Surplus Sale at the Portland Fall Home & Garden Show®.
Here
is a great opportunity to finally clean out your garage, shop or
warehouse and make a painless contribution to your HBA and Remodelors™
Council. If you can find it at the building site: We Want It!!!
Doors, Windows, Light Fixtures, Trim, Plumbing Fixtures, Tools (hand
or power), Landscape Equipment, New Books, Smalls such as boxes
of Nails and Screws, Door Knobs, Door Stops and Other Misc. Items
of Resalable Quality.
Your
donation may even be eligable for a business deduction on your taxes.

Award
Scott
Gregor of Master Plan Remodeling was selected as the winner of
three 2005 Chrysalis Awards: Best Design Build Project: Kitchen
Remodel over $100,000; Best Design Build Project: Bathroom Remodel
under $40,000; and Best Project: Residential Specialty. The awards
were presented on June 9, 2005, in a ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia.
In 2004,
Lee & Lori Zajic of N.W. Renovations & Design Co. were
awarded the national 2004 Chrysalis Award for remodeling excellence.
They won the Best Design/Build Project Whole House Remodel $200-$500,000
category.

Certifications
The
Remodelors™ Council of the National Association of Home Builders
has developed programs to help inform and educate their members.
These designations include CAPS (Certified
Aging-in-Place Specialist) and CGR
(Certified Graduate Remodelor). Certification classes
take place throughout the year at the HBA. Click

Tour
of Remodeled Homes
Each year, the Remodelors™ Council presents the Tour
of Remodeled Homes. This weekend show highlights the best examples
of remodeling projects in the Portland metropolitan area. The event
showcases whole house remodels, kitchen and bath remodels, room
additions and much more! Please click on the Tour logo in the upper

year's Tour.
Charities
& Community Events
Through
the Rebuilding Together (formally Christmas in April event) each
year, remodelers help home owners who are unable to fix up their
homes. Working in teams, remodelers work on several houses in the
program, providing remodeling and repairing needed to make the home
more habitable. It’s a day that touches the hearts of those who
participate because they see an immediate benefit to those in need.
